Georgetown Reaches Out to Faculty & Staff to Enhance Wellness (Washington DC) – Sept 29, 2007

Georgetown University Office of Faculty & Staff Benefits is reaching out to faculty and staff members who want to enhance their lives and well-being with GUWellness. The comprehensive new program, now nearing its launch date, promises to help boost the "mind, body and soul" of the university community. A significant part of the new wellness program will be the Georgetown University Benefits office Passport to Wellness.

Spearheaded by the Office of Faculty and Staff Benefits, the wellness program draws on the expertise and existing activities of many university resources to create a comprehensive wellness program. The new Passport to Wellness information booklet draws on the expertise and award winning print design skills of Blue Water Media. The print design team at Blue Water Media will work to create print pieces that engage and promote the wellness activities of the program.

The new print design will act as a centerpiece of information to encourage well-being for the entire Georgetown community and adhere to a cohesive corporate identity standard upon which future GU print collateral will resemble.

The idea behind the wellness program is to get the entire community involved in wellness activities. GUWellness planning participants include representatives from Yates Field House, the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, the Jesuit community, the School of Nursing and Health Studies (NHS), university leaders and more.

GUWellness activities will begin rolling out through the end of the year and start in earnest in 2008. Employees will have the opportunity to complete a confidential health assessment questionnaire, provided by their current health insurance plan, to receive a personalized health report.
