Custom DC Web Design Solution For Local DC Florist

When local family-run florist and garden center chain Johnson's Florist and Garden Centers, with locations in Maryland and Washington, DC, needed a redesigned website, they commissioned Washington, DC-based website design firm Blue Water Media (http://www.bluewatermedia.com) to tackle the task. The challenge was to create a website utilizing various technology to improve site functionality while keeping a down-to-earth web design true to the Johnson family-run business.

The new website design (http://www.johnsonsflorists.com) broke from the previous design by breaking up one site into two halves: one focusing on the florist business and the other on the gardening business to improve site navigation. Another web solution is a flower search based on keywords, minimum price, and maximum price. The new layout offers customers easy accesses to information with a new menu bar and pull-down menu options.

The biggest improvement in Johnson's Florists website design in the inclusion of a shopping cart. Customers can now buy online without having to visit one of Johnson's Florists' three locations. Online shopping features also allow the customer to pay extra for an upgrade to their bouquet.
